Nancy O'Dell started her career in the broadcast industry as an anchor at WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. She worked later as an anchor for morning news on WCBD TV and acted as an investigative reporter. Her reporting of the ineffective response of the police in response to DUI incidents in Charleston led to an investigation conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, which resulted in a new direction from the state authorities on DUI cases. In the year 2000, Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell with her Best Report of the year award for the entire South Carolina media. Following her stint in Charleston, O'Dell worked as a co-anchor for NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV and also as an investigative reporter. Then she became a part of Access Hollywood to work as a weekday and weekend correspondent. O'Dell's current role as a host on Access Hollywood is complemented by her work on NBC News Today, Dateline NBC as well as NBC News. She has covered such events as The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as well as co-hosting a number of pre-show arrivals to The Emmys and the Golden Globes. In addition, she hosted Miss USA's pageant as in addition to the Miss Universe Pageant.
